Cobolli si fa nettamente preferire nel primo set e resta più solido in un secondo parziale caratterizzato da una serie di break e controbreak. Nel terzo Arnaldi tira fuori la reazione d’orgoglio e riemerge per ben due volte dal momento più complicato, vincendo il set al tie-break, ma al quarto parziale non c’è storia. Flavio affronterà Zverev al 3° turno.
