L’azzurro ha superato all’esordio Daniel Altmaier, n. 49 al mondo, con un doppio 6-3 in poco più di un’ora e mezza di gioco. Un debutto senza difficoltà per Sinner che ritrovava il tedesco per la prima volta dalla sconfitta al Roland Garros 2023. Stavolta tutto è andato nel verso giusto per Jannik, supportato da un’ottima resa al servizio. Entrambi i set sono stati indirizzati dal break in apertura per Sinner che ha cambiato l’inerzia del match dall’ottavo game del primo set. Prima ha cancellato due palle del controbreak (le uniche concesse nel match) e poi ha vinto cinque game consecutivi. Jannik tornerà in campo già domenica (2° match dalle 12.30) per il match di terzo turno con Griekspoor.
