Roma, 26 ago. (askanews) – Adesso è anche ufficiale, la Cadillac esordirà in Formula 1 nel 2026 con la coppia composta da Sergio Perez e Valtteri Bottas. I due piloti tornano nel Circus dopo essere stati esclusi a fine 2024 rispettivamente da Red Bull e Kick Sauber. Perez e Bottas, che dovrebbero aver firmato un contratto su base biennale (ma la squadra non lo ha confermato nel comunicato) combinano 527 GP e 16 vittorie in F1. Hanno un bagaglio di esperienza che per un team all’esordio risulta preziosissimo: non stupisce che la Cadillac sia andata con convinzione su questi profili. I piani iniziali degli statunitensi erano quelli di affiancare a un pilota esperto un giovane statunitense, ma Colton Herta non ha mai convinto fino in fondo (e non ha raggiunto i punti sufficienti per la Superlicenza), dunque con il passare dei mesi si è fatta strada l’ipotesi del doppio pilota esperto.
